It`s been quite an eventful week here in the Bronx, and one of my favorites of the mission so far. We`ve been having tons of lessons and lots of finding opportunities, and had 8 of the people we are teaching come to church on sunday. This area is bumpin!

We had a lesson this week with our boy Yanniel. He is 20 and from the domincan republic, and super cool. He had met the sisters on the bus and they had given him a book of mormon to read, and when we went by to go teach him he was never home so we ended up just dropping his record. We stopped by randomly about 2 weeks ago, and he was home! He was so hyped to see us, and said that he had been reading almost daily in the Book of Mormon. We invited him to read Moroni 10, and when we came back he had read all of it. We came back once more this past week, and he was SO PUMPED because he had been reading the book of Mormon and said he felt so much happier and just loved life so much more. We invited him to be baptized, and he rejected... After a little discussion, we felt prompted to tell him that this invitation is not from us, but an invitation from God to come closer to his son Jesus Christ. He accepted and will be baptized the 15th of September!! Such a cool guy, we're for sure going to the Dominican republic together after the mission 😂

We've been having tons of fun out here in NY and really found the joy in serving the Lord. It definitely has been the best past 14 months of my life. I've been thinking recently about how almost everyone says that the mission is the "best two years". It's true that these two have changed and will continue to change me forever, but our mission president said something interesting. You should say for the rest of your life, "the past two years were the best of my life". That has pushed me to make the most of every day. The mission years are the best years right now because they are the last 2 years, but after my mission I want to keep growing and having even better experiences and years! This gospel is not a treadmill that stops running after a mission, it's a staircase that we either go up or down on! If we aren't progressing and coming closer to Christ, we are degressing and going towards the Adversary.

Elder Navarro had an accident

I was studying this week in the end of Mosiah, and I came across this verse that kind of summed up a lot of things I have learned lately. In chapter 29 verse 20 it says,

"But behold, he did deliver them because they did humble themselves before him; and because they cried mightily unto him he did deliver them out of bondage; and thus doth the Lord work with his power in all cases among the children of men, extending the arm of mercy towards them that put their trust in him."

Marcó Rojas!

If we only humble ourselves, and sincerely reach out to him through prayer, his arm is constantly and eternally extended for us to latch on. So reach out!!!

Love you all!
