Week 24: Transfers!!

Image
Yo everyone what is up?!  It was transfers yesterday!!! So crazy! So here's the big news.... I got transferred! I'm currently in Harlem now, which is in Manhattan right next to Central Park. The apartment we live in is so freaking nice I can't even explain, but I'll talk about that more later!  First off, the last week with Elder Gomez in the Bronx was amazing. We had so many cool things happen, and my last day in the area, Monday, was the best day on my mission so far. We had tons of lessons planned out, and so we went to the laundromat to say bye to Angelica and Elvira cause those are my ladies. They actually came to church on Sunday which was so awesome because we've been trying forever! So we get to talking to her about how she liked church and she tells us that she got there a little late and didn't hear the sacramental prayer for the bread, so she didn't think she should eat it. She heard the one for the water, and decided to drink it. She ha...

Week 23: Bapped Up!

Image
What's up! Man it's been such a quick week, I feel like I was just typing a email. But, it's been good out here!  On Saturday we had a baptism! Her name was Miriam and shes the niece of the Carvente family! Their little son named Bryant got baptized too, and it was such a dope night! We had 3 investigators there, Maite and her two sons. They loved it, and were wondering later if they could have their cousin Nefi baptize them! So awesome. The missionaries gave a musical number at the baptism, and let's just say there was a lot of lip syncing haha. After the baptism, we had a Thanksgiving party and that was a ton of fun too. There were a ton of people there and so much food, which was all amazing cause it's the Spanish ward duh. This week we definitely had some downers, not gonna lie. Two of those were having to drop some baptismal dates because people didn't come to church. That seriously is the worst haha. We sit there for t...

Week 22: Is It Christmas yet?

Pic in front of a dope wall! Yo everyone! It's been such a bomb week out here in New York! The work is moving along and it's even better with the holidays coming up! We're playing Christmas music all the time so you could say we're ready for it haha.  So last Wednesday after we played sports and did everything else we needed to do, we went by GNC and I finally grabbed myself some pre workout so I'm not dying when I lift in the mornings. We've been going pretty hard with working out morning and night which is awesome cause it's the best stress reliever ever. Also update, we didn't bring the bench into our place because we were scared there were bed bugs on it 😂 but, we did end up giving the lady we met a Book of Mormon so that was awesome! We had a super cool lesson with M___ and her family on Thursday, and ended up inviting them to pray about a baptismal date for December 30. They said they would and loved the lesson we shared about the...

World trade center     At 9/11 memorial Que pasa! Esta semana fue buenísima! So many awesome things happening here in the Bronx! So first off, last Wednesday we went down to Manhattan and it was super cool! The 9/11 memorial is the best place ever I swear, every time I go there I love it. It makes me like 20x more patriotic haha. We also got some dope penguin ties from this place and Elder Stevens and Horner and I got a unity one that’s pretty snazzy. Then we went and played some ball at the chapel inside the temple with our old roommates and my boy Elder Munoz! That night we had a super good lesson with one of our investigators on baptismal date, and then a FHE with a family in the ward. This family is seriously so cool, and they love sharing the gospel to people which is awesome to see.     Jersey set up at Nike store   Nike store and LeBron!  LeBron again     Best player ever again Hornets...

Week 20: Día de los muertos!

What's up everyone! Another week down here in the Bronx! It's been such a good week with so much happening, so I'll try and condense it all into this email!  Last pday was just full of cleaning the apartment, playing sports, and going shopping. Our English class had given me a Marshall's gift card for my bday a while back, so we went there and I found a dope Oakley Hoodie and haircut kit which I desperately need 😂 that night we had awesome lessons with Floridelda who is on bap date, and then the Martinez family who is the dopest family ever! They are so strong in the church and just love doing missionary work, which is super cool to see. It's super hard to get ward members involved out here, nothing like back on the west coast haha. Thursday we had a hilarious English class 😂 so we only had like 5 people there and they were our home girls that always come. We decided to play some pictionary with them and it was so freaking funny to watch them try to ...
