2/25/19: Lluvia de bendiciones

Heyo! Sorry for no email last week, we had to drive down to NY for a temple trip so we were pretty busy the whole time. It's been a BOMB past 2 weeks. We had 2 baptisms, the latest one being Yudid Ortega! She is a 9 year old of this family we have been teaching. The parents can't get baptized yet, but they really wanted Yudid to do it. She was super pumped, and made sure the water was the perfect temperature before getting in. It was hilarious, because about 20 people showed up for the baptism but they brought enough food for the entire Branch of Danbury. Needless to say everyone got their fair share.  We are working with the Rosario family a ton and actually had dinner with them and our Branch President on Friday. Whitest dinner I've had in a while, which was awesome. The family loved it and made quick friends with the Newbolds. It was sweet cause on Sunday we were talking to the wife a little bit about the difference they have felt and seen at

Virginia and Ruben!  What's up!  Danbury is the place to be y'all. The people here are the coolest and we're seeing the Lord work mighty miracles in our area and zone. Nothing is better than His work!  So we visit this lady named Virginia, from the DR. She is literally our grandma out here, and is on baptismal date for the 30th of March. She hasn't been able to come to church because she has work, but this past week we did a practice conversation with her on how to ask her boss for Sundays off and it seemed to work. She came! Her brother came as well and he is the man. This lady cooks the best Hispanic food ever, so you know I'm bringing some recipes home with me to teach y'all how they do it in the Caribbean.  I don't know what it was this week, but everyone we're teaching was working on their cars. On Saturday we went to help a family we are visiting to wash their car because it had been in the 50's for a few days in a row a

a pet "cuy": this is someone's pet I'm holding, we actually went and bought a frozen one from the store to have at a baptism coming up...apparently they are a favorite in Ecuador!? Hola!  You're probably wondering why my title for this email contains weird animals.  Turkey Vulture - Every morning we see 4-10 of these carnivorous creepers perched on trees or the dumpster. Our goal for now is freeze enough pupusas to sling em out and knock each one of their heads off so we get to save a little $ throughout the week. We'll update you on that next week. stuffed deer just hanging out Possum - Elder Barnes barely missed this little critter while hauling a full 25 mph down the neighborhood way. We thought it was a small child or puppy, so of course we stopped to check her out. Turns out this poss got sacked like Tanner Mangum and wasn't gonna make it too much longer. Graphic picture headed your way. the
