8/6/18: Bautismo y un testimonito

Ya se fue la semana!  This one went by like nothing, but one of the coolest weeks of the mission. First off, we have transfers tomorrow and I'll be staying here in the Bronx with Elder Lammi! Pretty excited for that honestly because we've got some awesome people here we're working with. Also pretty much every companionship in our zone will be receiving someone from the previous New York South mission, which will be sweet!  We had a baptism! Juan Nuñez was baptized and confirmed this weekend and it was such a cool experience. After the baptism we usually teach the restoration to everyone there but this time we switched it up and put a quick video on it and mashed some testimonies from past missionaries and members from the ward with super dope piano in the back. 10/8/18: Conferencia general

Buenos días!  Man what a weekend! General conference is always the best weekend in the mission. It was so cool to hear from living prophets of God, and especially to hear about 12 new temples! President Nelson is going hard. We had a sweet week here in Brentwood. We had an awesome miracle on Friday. We were going around inviting all of the people we are teaching to general conference, and this one lady we were looking for wasn't home. The front door was open, and we saw this older lady dancing to some super loud Hispanic music. Her son was there too, and when we approached he invited us right in! We sat down with him and talked to him about general conference this weekend. Honestly, we weren't planning on inviting him to be baptized, but he literally asked us what our end goal is! So we told him, and set a baptismal date for the 27th of this month! He came to general conference yesterday and brought his entire family as well.  This week I was studying ...

5/21/18: "El bronX"

Hola!  We had an awesome split this week with the English elders in the East side of the Bronx. I went over to their area and as we went through the night not a ton of people were willing to talk to us. There's a recurring theme on splits that there is always some sort of miracle that happens, but it was already 8:15 and we hadn't seen anything like that. We were walking to go look someone up, and this lady with a dog was walking the other way so we began to talk to her. As we explained our role as missionaries and a scripture with her, she began to weep and told us that she had been looking for peace in her life because she was there taking care of her sick mother. She told us "I wish you were in Connecticut!" and as we told her that there were missionaries there as well she lit up and was so excited for them to pass by.
