12/17/18:Ya volvimos al verano
It's wild that Christmas is next week already time is going!
This has been a solid week, we had a few exchanges, and tons of miracles. To top it all off, my boy Elder Thompson (now Ethan) came back and knocked on our door to say what's up while he is visiting the mission. Such a dope surprise!
I honestly could finish my mission in this area, Brentwood is the best. The ward is so tight knit and the members are the coolest. The people we are working with right now are truly seeking answers to sincere questions and seeing blessings from reading the Book of Mormon. This has been the best moment of the mission!
I was studying this week about the gospel of Jesus Christ and what it means to me. I came across a talk from President Thomas S. Monson a few years back entitled "love - the essence of the gospel". It talks about how as we live the gospel, we are naturally going to show love to others. There's a quote I thought was sweet.
"We cannot truly love God if we do not love our fellow travelers on this mortal journey."
It is of upmost important that we "judge less, and accept more". Our church must be held to a higher standard of acceptance and welcoming these people who want to learn more! If you see someone new at church, go say what's up!
I was also listening to a talk this week by Dan Clarke, and he talks about how one moment can literally change someone's life. A few weeks ago we met a family that hasn't been to church in 15 years. We have been meeting with them and the son is 22, our age! We are teaching his girlfriend, and they have all been to church as a family the past 2 weeks. The moment we met them not only changed their lives, but ours as well. We have grown so close just by simply sharing spiritual experiences. One moment, one hello, one smile can bring someone one step closer to obtaining exaltation.
"if we do today what others won't, we can do tomorrow what others can't"
Let's do today what God wants members of his church to do, so when tomorrow comes, we are all prepared for whatever tempest comes our way.
Love you all!
