Week 41: Tendremos conferencia en tres días!




Gracias a él activity! Talked to like 200 people in an hour and a half. 
Another week here in Harlem in the books! This weekend is General Conference and I can't tell you how excited I am!

We had some pretty cool stuff happen to us on Saturday. We were walking down the street after having contacted people for about 2 hours, with no success. A man walks up and asks us how we're doing which is super weird in New York because usually when people walk up to us it's either to yell at us or lie to us and say they are college graduates who need some change for some coffee. We ended up walking with him for about 20 blocks, talking about his family and how he loves the peace that our church brings to the Harlem community. We left him with a card and then had another awesome thing happen when we went to look up an investgator. We got out of the elevator and saw a lady that we had passed off a few weeks ago, and she told us that she took seeing us again as a confirmation that she was on the right path. Then as we were walking down the street again, we ran into a building after this Hispanic guy to invite him to English class and we ended up sharing Because of Him! He told us he wanted us to come back and teach his family. Then we were about to go home when we turned around and decided to do one more look up. We knocked on the door and the kids answered, and we shared Because of Him. One of the friends that was at the house was just staring at us the whole time making it very apparent that he wasn't interested. The mom ended up getting home right before we were going to leave and she invited us inside! We had an awesome lesson that basically turned into a testimony meeting. The kid told us his testimony of prayer and how it changed his life, and that my experience that I had shared with him was very similar to what happened to him. It was so awesome to see his change in countenance as the spirit filled the home.

We also had a split on Monday with the Zone Leaders and Elder Bailey came to our area. It was seriously one of the best splits I've had. Just working super hard and teaching all the people in our area was awesome, and we made it a point to keep the conversation focused on the work which helped us feel the spirit so much stronger. We also met a member from Salt Lake! Oh yeah and we had a lesson with this guy named Walter who loves to sing for us so I'll try and throw in some videos later today!

So for General Conference this weekend, I actually just want to invite all of you to go into it with a question. I've seen that bringing a question that you really are seeking an answer for helps us find it through the spirit. It is so cool and we are so blessed to be able to hear from the prophet of God in just a few days. Don't miss it!!!

Me and my district!  Over halfway done with the mtc! It is flying by right now I honestly want it to slow down because it's honestly so fun right now. My district is hilarious and we all have a ton of fun while still getting everything done and staying obedient. Perfect combo! This past week has legit been so awesome. Our District :) So on Friday we had our first TRC. That stands for Teaching Resource Center, and it's where REAL recent converts, long time members, and sometimes real investigators volunteer to come in and get taught by us. It's crazy because you have no clue who these people are and you're supposed to teach them the restoration right off the bat and they speak super fast, but it's all good! Such a dope experience honestly. We actually didn't realize that the first girl we taught was already a member, so we invited her to be baptized.... whoops. But she played along and said yes haha. Week 2: Segundo Semana!

 Our District at the Mexico Temple!  Going into my third week here at the CCM! Not gonna lie, that first week was rough. It honestly felt like 3 months not 7 days. This past week flewwww by though! The language is coming a lot quicker now, and our district is awesome so time flies. It honestly is a lot of fun right now, which is not what I expected haha. And it helps that my mom is sending me packages with American food all the time, so shout out to momma Butta for that.  the clouds here look fake they're so puffy lol it's awesome    So David A. Bednar came to the Provo Mtc on Tuesday, and we got to listen to a live broadcast of it! That was awesome, and the spirit was crazy during it. Bednar is top 5 apostles all time no doubt. He's finally starting to age though which is crazy cause he looked like a 30 year old the past 10 years. 6/11/18: Agradecido

Hey everyone! Hope you've all had a great week!  This week went by way too quick, and it was filled with so many cool things.  First off, we had an amazing lesson on Friday night. We had contacted a guy on the bus a few weeks back and had never been able to meet up but we finally got an appointment. We went over for only 20 minutes and had one of the most spiritual lessons on the restoration ever. As Elder Jensen said the first vision I had another witness that it really happened, and that because God loves us he has yet again called a prophet to lead and guide the people.  That leads right in to zone conference this past week. We had it up in Scarsdale where the mission home is, and it was the most powerful one I've been to. It was the last one with president Smith, and we focused on Joseph smith's experience.
