1/28/19: Enfermo :(

Hello!

Connecticut is SWEET! It's basically Utah up here. We had a meeting with the Stake Presidency yesterday and the building we went to was bigger than any other building I've seen. Our branch is sweet, and half Spanish half Portuguese. So I've been attempting to fallar a little more Portuguese than normal. Only negative from the week, I got some stomach thing going on and that has NOT been fun :( So if you have any good home remedies for that send em! 

The first few days here were super sweet. We had tons of lessons and were able to set 5 baptismal dates with people we're teaching. It's been super cool to see the amount of prepared people here. There seems to be a stigma in the area that it's hard to work in CT, but that is the biggest lie ever; People are the coolest here! 

Our second night in the area we were knocking some doors, and we started talking to this Portuguese guy. He invited us right inside and started feeding us some rice and meet and beans while he and his wife attempted to speak Spanglish to us and drank beer. We got out pretty quick because the coherence level wasn't the highest, but the man didn't let us leave until we gave him a firm handshake and man-hug. Totally thought he was gonna go for a kiss on the cheek and I was about to 40-yard dash outta there. First experience with Portuguese people = interesting 

This week I have been thinking and studying a lot on eternal progression. Brigham Young is the king of this topic, and said "The object of this existence is to learn, which we can only do a little at a time. The whole mortal existence of man is neither more nor less than a preparatory state given to finite beings, a space wherein they may improve themselves for a higher state of being." 

This whole life we live on earth is to prepare us to keep learning and progressing in the life to come. It just makes sense! Knowledge is eternal, and in order to obtain all knowledge we're gonna need a heck of a lot longer than just our short mortal lives.

Week 3: 3 Weeks Down!

Me and my district!  Over halfway done with the mtc! It is flying by right now I honestly want it to slow down because it's honestly so fun right now. My district is hilarious and we all have a ton of fun while still getting everything done and staying obedient. Perfect combo! This past week has legit been so awesome. Our District :) So on Friday we had our first TRC. That stands for Teaching Resource Center, and it's where REAL recent converts, long time members, and sometimes real investigators volunteer to come in and get taught by us. It's crazy because you have no clue who these people are and you're supposed to teach them the restoration right off the bat and they speak super fast, but it's all good! Such a dope experience honestly. We actually didn't realize that the first girl we taught was already a member, so we invited her to be baptized.... whoops. But she played along and said yes haha. Week 2: Segundo Semana!

 Our District at the Mexico Temple!  Going into my third week here at the CCM! Not gonna lie, that first week was rough. It honestly felt like 3 months not 7 days. This past week flewwww by though! The language is coming a lot quicker now, and our district is awesome so time flies. It honestly is a lot of fun right now, which is not what I expected haha. And it helps that my mom is sending me packages with American food all the time, so shout out to momma Butta for that.  the clouds here look fake they're so puffy lol it's awesome    So David A. Bednar came to the Provo Mtc on Tuesday, and we got to listen to a live broadcast of it! That was awesome, and the spirit was crazy during it. Bednar is top 5 apostles all time no doubt. He's finally starting to age though which is crazy cause he looked like a 30 year old the past 10 years. 6/11/18: Agradecido

Hey everyone! Hope you've all had a great week!  This week went by way too quick, and it was filled with so many cool things.  First off, we had an amazing lesson on Friday night. We had contacted a guy on the bus a few weeks back and had never been able to meet up but we finally got an appointment. We went over for only 20 minutes and had one of the most spiritual lessons on the restoration ever. As Elder Jensen said the first vision I had another witness that it really happened, and that because God loves us he has yet again called a prophet to lead and guide the people.  That leads right in to zone conference this past week. We had it up in Scarsdale where the mission home is, and it was the most powerful one I've been to. It was the last one with president Smith, and we focused on Joseph smith's experience.
